About Lafayette Township
Lafayette Township is located in Northeast Ohio’s Medina County, part of the Cleveland/Akron metropolitan area. Situated immediately southwest of the city of Medina, the county seat, Lafayette Township features excellent roads and ready access to a wide array of shopping venues and conveniences while retaining a relaxed and rural flavor.
The Township enjoys a mix of rural areas, including working farms, newer residential communities, park lands and commercial and recreational areas.
Lafayette Township is only a few minutes from major interstates, including I-71 and I-76, providing easy commutes to Cleveland (30 miles) and Akron (25 miles).
The Township boasts the largest natural lake in Ohio – the historic and scenic Chippewa Lake, which is preserved as part of the Medina County Park District.
